Borderless Consulting Sdn. Bhd. CEO Mitsuru “Mitch” Misawa

After moving to Indonesia in 2014, he has been involved in the management of local subsidiaries in five ASEAN countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam, and has supported numerous renewable energy power generation projects and cross-border M&A and JV projects.

In August 2024, he founded Borderless Consulting Sdn. Bhd. in Kuala Lumpur and served as CEO.
He is engaged in advisory services covering the entire M&A process, from deal sourcing to M&A execution and PMI (post-integration organizational integration).

As a Japan lawyer, he collaborates with partner law firms in Malaysia to provide a wide range of support to Japanese companies' local businesses, including corporate legal affairs, human resources and labor, litigation, and dispute resolution. He was selected as The Best Lawyers in Japan 2026 (Energy Law).

His strength is his hands-on consulting, which integrates "strategy× legal × field practice", and he has extensive knowledge of contract practice and administrative procedures that correspond to the systems and permits of each country, especially in the field of renewable energy.

Based on the international business perspective cultivated at a master's degree in business administration (MBA) and U.S. law school, he proposed practical solutions to accelerate the ASEAN expansion of Japanese companies. Currently, he is writing a column on ESG and renewable energy legislation for the local magazine "Jiji Bulletin Malaysia".
